Winchester Van Hire - Open 7 Days a Week
One Day Van Hire
One-day van hire is ideal when a job is too large for a car but does not justify keeping a van for several days. Typical uses include moving a flat, collecting furniture, taking equipment to a job or clearing a property.
What can you get done in one day?
- A local flat or small-house move, depending on volume and distance.
- A planned furniture or appliance collection.
- A business delivery or one-off equipment movement.
- A student move between home and accommodation.
- A DIY or renovation materials run where the load is appropriate for the van.
Choose the van before choosing the route
| Van | Load volume | Payload | Load area (L × W × H) | Rear opening (W × H) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SWB Ford Transit | 6.2m³ | 869kg | 2,495 × 1,745 × 1,430mm | 1,540 × 1,350mm |
| LWB Ford Transit | 11.0m³ | 1,192kg | 3,399 × 1,745 × 1,855mm | 1,540 × 1,796mm |
| 3.5-Tonne Luton tail lift | 17.1m³ | 1,150kg | 3,910 × 2,020 × 2,160mm | 1,890 × 1,930mm |
Dimensions, payloads and capacities are a guide. If a measurement or capacity is critical to your job, please confirm it with Alco Van Hire before booking or loading.
If the job is mainly boxes and smaller furniture, an SWB may be enough. A LWB reduces the need for multiple trips when the load is longer or bulkier. The Luton van gives the most volume and a tail lift.
Mileage and booking
Standard daily hires currently include 200 miles per day. Alco Van Hire’s online booking system can be used 24/7 where collection is more than 18 hours away and the hirer meets the online booking requirements.
